Whats wrong with people and teens?

doesnt it seem like people in the US seem to be greedy.it seems like they dont really care about anyone about themselves.im just talking about the majority,they seem to live in a materialistic world.if they can afford it they dont give to charity,they dont go on mission trips and they dont do much else except listen to their ipods and buy designer clothes.also im talking about a lot of teenagers-they are getting pregnant and are just dumb.what do you think on this matter and why are people so selfish?

were not all that bad, you should come to my school and see the kids, we love peace and love and helping people,

yeah we have ipods and buy expensive clothes but that doesnt necessarily make us greedy. its common to see classmates sitting on the street showing peace signs to cars going by

But maybe you aren't looking at and apprecuating the people you might see who are still good inside.

I'm a teenager.  I say hello to people I pass on the street.  I compliment people as often as I sincerely can, and I put my extra quarters in the parking meters i pass at the beach if they have expired or are running low

there are still good people out there.  the best arent obvious about it :)

I agree. Alot of kids dont value hard work, to get the things you need, or anything else for that matter. And im not talking about everyone, but my work puts me in contact with alot of  well off families, whose kids have everything under the sun, and are little snots. disrespectful, and rude, and knowing everything from clothes to college to a first apartment, or anything else will be provided at the snap of their finger. It gets on my nerves, that these people are the ones who will succeed because mommy and daddy gave it to them, then the kids who actually work their butts off get the short end of the deal. As far as teen pregnancy, i think its ignorance because they dont get the correct information, and also they arent getting the love they desire from their own parents....every teen i ever knew that got pregnant anyway, didnt have the greatest of relationships with their parents.

Hii I totally agree with you. What has this world become? I was talking to my mom and grandma about how life was when they were kids and it was much different. It didnt matter what you wore because people were lucky to even have clothes and kids were able to play out on the streets and not have to worry and practically no teenagers were getting pregnant. People these days are becoming sick and selfish people. People dont care about anyone else but themselves and only care about getting the best stuff and only about material things. People dont care about the many humans living in poverty only about if they have the newest juicy sweatsuit or the biggest house.

i totally agree with you and people need to learn better or this world is going to go more downhill.

Try living in UK for a while. You will die here... I'm moving Cyprus, 'cause this country sucks and prices are becoming so high in such a fast time. UK has worst behaving teenagers in Europe.(sorry... ^.^")

Besides there are lots of good kids out there :) They just aren't visable because they dont make mess, and no one pays attention to them, because everyone has to wipe azzes of those spoilt brats who think that smoking and drinking is cool...

not everyone in the US is like that, there's greedy people EVERYWHERE in the world. i know A LOT of people who give to charities (for ex: from my town of STL, A-B gave 13 million last year to charities) my school gave over $4200 to the invisible children foundation, we are the smallest school in our district with 1200 student, the other 2 high schools with double our students only gave half of us. and my church just went on a mission trip. and not that many teenagers are getting pregnant, the media is just over emphasizing the whole thing, it's a SLIGHT rise in pregnancies. and i'm a TEEN, and i dont like that stereotyping, we act "bad" because everyone complains about us and never sees who we truly are.

do you even live in the US? maybe you need to visit some other places in the US and see all the good it.

why are you talking about teens? how about movie starts that deal with million dollar productions and only donate pocket change.

because not everyone in america has that kind of money.

Let's realize that facts: Their are a lot of Americans who are greedy and there's also a lot of Americans who aren't greedy.

I think this kind of conclusion really differs depending on what kind of neighborhood you grow up in. You have to realize that if you grow up in rich neighborhood then yes your probaly going to see a lot of greedy people, not all but a good amount of those who are rich are greedy.

Higher middle class and middle class can kinda lean either way, some are greedy, some arent.

the low income tends to be the most generous people because they first hand understand what hardship really is all about.

My personal experience: Are a lot of teenagers selfish? that's really a matter of opinion there are a lot that are but I know theres some good people out there and this very kind of question can anger those good hardworking people.

There aren't that many charities that you can count on anymore. Many don't give the money to the actual cause. Missions are mostly hosted by religious people (such as Christians). I'm athiest, so I don't see any opportunities for me in that field. You don't have to give money to a charity or work at a mission to help make the world a better place. What about volunteering at places? Did you ever think of that? Yes, too many teens are pregnant, but there isn't much we can do since we mostly teach abstinence only s*x ed. If they taught teens how to protect themselves, we wouldn't have so many problems.

P.S. I HATE Ipods. They suck! That's why I have the Sony equivelant of one.

US culture embraces selfishness and ignorance and it always has. People like to say that teenagers are naturally selfish and ignorant, but that's not the case. Go to other countries with less privilege and it's a completely different case there.

America is populated and owned by selfish, lazy, and ignorant people. Sad, isn't it?

people in general are selfish not Americans i don't know what you are talking about and we do give to charity have you heard of feed the children we give to poor countries who cant afford to feed the starving also we give to the homeless i am not saying everybody does but a lot and what about people in your country what are they doing and in other country personally we don't have to help out anyone but we do as yes a lot of teens do get pregnant its not your problem
