Premier League News: Chelsea prepare cheeky bid for Liverpool’s Fernando Torres
Chelsea are currently rumoured to be in the works, trying to come up with a fresh, new and improved bid to try and lure Liverpool's World Cup winning striker, Fernando Torres to the Stamford Bridge as early as January.
The player had been heavily linked with a move to the London side in the past and had previously seen an offer worth around twenty five million pounds turned down by the Reds, which would allow the player to change clubs.
The twenty-six-year-old has, however, now managed to reach an all time high level in terms of growing frustrated with the club and has now signalled a now or never for him to leave the side. Liverpool, who are currently having
what is possibly the worst season in their recent history, will have to try really hard to retain the services of the player past the January transfer window, but the team might have already admitted defeat on that front.
Carlo Ancelotti is also a strong believer in the fact that Torres is just the player that the team needs, to help the team and currently the world’s top striker Didier Drogba to perform even better. That is, of course, only for
as long as the player stays at the club. Considering Drogba is going to call it quits on his career in the near future, the Spaniard could also be thought to be the long term replacement for the hit man in the near future.
Chelsea are reported to offer Liverpool a more than tempting forty five million pounds for the striker. With Torres currently not performing at the same level that people have expected him to, the new owners of the club might just
find this offer a little too good to give up.
The player could also be the perfect Chelsea player. Torres is by no means losing his touch as he still maintains a very impeccable record, but just can't seem to find the right blend of teammates with which to excel. Most experts
strongly believe that the right blend of players who can help the player peak are currently at Chelsea. He would not only have the perfect players to deliver him the ball from the back, but he would also have the world’s best strikers to partner him up front,
which is something the player has begged for at Liverpool.
With the offer looking to be more than tempting for both the clubs and the player, it is now just a matter of time before this deal actually materializes.
