The Reading boss has heaped praise on the Blues head coach Rafael Benitez, and has admitted that his side will face an uphill task against the London-based outfit on Wednesday.
Reading FC will lock horns against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in their upcoming Premier League encounter at Madejski Stadium on Wednesday, January 30.
The Royals head coach, Brian McDermott, has expressed confidence that his side can grab a good result if they play to their potential, but has also admitted that it will not be an easy task to dismantle the Blues, who have been claiming consistent result
away from home since Rafael Benitez has taken their reins.
“It's important we do our stuff. We're getting there, we're working really hard with the group. We're getting better and we're enjoying the challenge”, McDermott was quoted as saying to the media.
The Blues cruised to a comfortable 4-2 victory in the reverse fixture back in August last year. However, the former Slough Town boss has insisted that his side deserved to claim a good result in that game after putting in a solid show throughout the 90 minutes.
“We played well on the night and should've got something from the game”, McDermott added.
Rafael Benitez, the Blues manager, has faced severe criticism since taking over the managerial hot seat at Stamford Bridge from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo in November. However, the Royals boss has insisted that the former Liverpool head coach has done well since
taking the reins of the London-based outfit.
“If you look at Chelsea's record under Rafa away from home they've been phenomenal, they're right up there. He's a top manager. He did a fantastic http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and in Spain”, McDermott concluded.
Reading are heading into the game on the back of four wins in a row in all competitions. After claiming a 1-3 victory over Crawley Town in a FA Cup game, the Royals managed to overcome West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United with a 3-2 and 1-2 win respectively
in the Premier League before cruising to an impressive 4-0 victory over Sheffield United in the FA Cup.
McDermott would be hoping that his side continues their fine run of form, and claim a good result on Wednesday night to climb out of the drop zone.
