Your friend must contact her congressman or senator and begin the process of getting information.  Your friend should probably begin saving money to buy her son's freedom.  Also, you can contact an attorney dealing with international relations but expect to lay out a load of dough.  Third World countries are no place to live unless one is a citizen and they have the bad luck to be born there.  Police may have falsely set him up if they think his relatives have money so they will ante up.  What's a po policeman to do but to extort money from Americans?

    many tourists that go to Jamaica get in trouble for buying illicite drugs, and are tricked by the seller who in turns call the police after selling it,is also depends on the charges?
