  1. not much different,1 and it might be a biggie natural gas is piped to your house,always there,but propane is bottled so you need to keep refueling ,that may or may not be a problem ,as far as heat there is not much difference.........tom


  2. These numbers are for Ontario Canada, but they are probably pretty close, at least ratio wise...

    For every dollar spent heating a home with electricity, you would use $0.90 to heat with propane, $1.35 to heat with oil, and only about $0.54 to heat with natural gas.

    Maintenance should be comparable. The appliances are virtually the same. They just have different orifices and possibly a different gasvalve and burner, depending on the manufacturer.

    Propane has a bit more btu's than natural gas, but I've allowed for that in my numbers above...
