I am thinking about signing up for auditing with the Church of Scientology?

I have never really gone to church so I don't know how it all works. The Scientologists want me to write them a check before I go. This seems weird to me but I have heard other people talking about paying tithes of up to 10% of their income to their churches. So is it really a big deal to pay?

  1. Scientology is a religious applied philosophy.

“It is possible to know about the mind, the spirit and life”

Scientology states that man is a Spiritual being that controls a body through a mind. To represent this life force, the Greek symbol for though: “Theta” was selected to avoid confusion with any prior practice.

The mind (we are not talking about the brain that is just the center of the nervous system) is a bank of mental image pictures. This bank is what the spirit uses to make decisions; it is composed of the analytical mind and the reactive mind. The analytical mind is clear; it doesn’t have any hidden influences and is fully accessible by the Thetan. The reactive mind is a collection of bad mental image picture that include pain, unconsciousness and command value. The reactive mind is the hidden influence that aberrates reason. The reactive mind is the cause for all human aberration, insanity or evil purpose.

Scientology’s approach to solve human aberration: Auditing.

    - “Communication is the Universal Solvent.”

    - “All problems of the mind are created by the mind.”

    - “The mind can solve all the problems of the mind”

To solve the problem of the reactive mind Hubbard developed Auditing; a verbal therapy that uses questions to help the individual address what is bothering him. So the person by his own volition can solve his own problems. The big difference between Auditing and Psychoanalysis is that the Psychoanalyst evaluates for the person and tells him what to think. In Auditing you just ask and listen and let the person make his own mind about things.

There are no suggestions involved in Auditing, all conclusion are done by you by your own intelligence. Auditors are bound the Auditor’s Code to never evaluate for the preclear (preclear is a person receiving Scientology processing).  Never get in a relationship with the preclear.  All information released during auditing is protected by law and not even the police can gain access to that information. Enforcing this code of conduct is the Scientology Ethics Officer and Scientology law. Any violation to the Auditors code is considered a high crime in Scientology and will result removal of any Auditing Certificates and/or expulsion from the church. I have seen this happen and is a very serious matter.

Any friend or family member can audit you for free. Or you can take the courses and get your Auditing with other students. Taking Scientology courses is no more expensive than taking courses at your community college. Scientology also offers correspondence courses for a little as $30.00.

Professional auditing is also offered by highly trained specialists. An auditing team is composed of the Auditor, Ethics Officer, Quality Assurance (the person that tells the Auditor what to do), Corrections (the people that constantly train the Auditor on how to do the process) and the rest of the administration of a Church of Scientology. These are not one on one services, these are a whole team working to better you. It is expensive because is expensive to create, train and maintain the team.

    How Scientology evolved?

Scientology evolved from Dianetics when it was discovered that man is a spiritual being. Scientology differs from Dianetics in that Dianetics deals with the mind and the rehabilitation of mental image pictures and Scientology deals with the rehabilitation of the human spirit itself.

We don’t ask for your faith in Scientology. There is no faith needed, when you can observe and experience it working by your self.

    Cult status?

All great religions have been misunderstood, persecuted and attacked. Jesus was sentenced to death by a lynching crowd; his only crime:  to teach Love and forgiveness. Christians were KILLED for centuries for their beliefs and they were accused of performing cannibalistic rituals (didn’t they ate and drink the body of Jesus?).

Scientology is a worldwide religion that claims 10 millions of members. It has centers in almost every mayor capital in the world: Washington, London, Berlin, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Sydney, Tel Aviv Israel and Moscow to name a few. And for a church that is barely 40 years old this is great. Scientology is not a small sect based in a small town in Texas isolated from the rest of the world. Scientology thrives in the center of mayor cities, its member are community leaders, doctors, teachers and workers from all sectors of society. The fact most Scientologists have a college education says a lot.

Scientologists are involved in all kinds of community improv

  2. ok don't pay yet until you check

    it out.

cause it could be a total scam

    or completely geniune.

    just WAIT

  3. I am thinking:

    YOURE A GODDAM IDIOT.

Read up on The Cult of $cientology.

    ITS A BRAIN WASHING SCAM.

  4. As long as you have spare cash, and a taste for the worst science-fiction you can know, then you're perfectly cool.

  5. just DON'T!!!

  6. You should not have to "pay" for spirituality or "enlightenment".

Edited to add: Answer to your last question -- no, it's not any different from any of the major religions that ask for donations. But then I don't support any of them either.

  7. It is a scam.  Don't do.  Read up on Scientology and you will find out everything they are going to tell you during your "audit."  That's just the beginning.

  8. It is your money.  Go for it.

  9. Go to the Freezone to get what you're looking for. You do not have to go to the Church of Scientology to get those answers and I would actually warn you against going there to get those answers.

InternationalFreezone.net uses the same technology but without the craziness. Promise!

It is different from paying another church because you pay for specific things you do there, like for a training course or some counseling. The problem is, you can never pay enough and the prices get higher and higher and higher and higher, certainly coming out MUCH higher than any 10% does.

Unless you are very wealthy, you will never make it to the goals that they say you will at the church there. Find yourself one live person who has made it to their upper levels that isn't very wealthy. Try. You won't be able to because they don't exist. And if they try to tell you to join staff in exchange for services, run the other way, because they NEVER actually give you what they promise with that either.

So again, if you are truly interested in spiritual/life betterment, look to the Freezone. =o)

  10. DO - NOT - DO - IT

Scientology is a big scam, among other things.  You *will* be sucked dry financially if you become involved.

The official Scientology organization is composed of a number of “levels”. One begins as a “preclear” & works their way up. One must purchase virtually every service crucial to advancement directly from the "church" & at staggering prices. "Auditing", for example, is purchased in 12½ hour blocks, costing anywhere from $200-$750 for introductory sessions to between $8,000 & $9,000 for advanced sessions. Basically, Scientology claims to possess exclusive knowledge of the path to religious redemption & then charges obscene amounts of money for every tiny incremental step towards this end. Visit this link to see how $380,000 is a conservative estimate for the total cost of moving all the way up the Scientology hierarchal ladder:

    http://www.xenu.net/archive/prices.html

These are the total costs for auditing alone:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology...

Here’s an explanation of what “auditing” is:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

Scientology actually pays members 10% commissions, called FSM (Field Staff Member) commissions, for bringing in new recruits who take a course or get counseling, so Scientology members routinely try to "sell" Scientology to others. The new members then, in turn, are required to pay vast amounts of money to the "church" in order to receive "auditing", “Run Downs”, courses, literature, take tests, retake tests, etc.

  11. It isn't any different at all than paying 10 % of your income to your church. Churches have expenses too, like training the auditors, and keeping the building there (heat, electricity, etc). That is what you are paying for when you buy services in Scientology. But let's not forget that your donations also help support our social betterment programs

    See the link below

As for yourself, you probably won't be accepted for auditing unless you have personal goals for it.

  12. erm right, so you've already taken the first step on the ladder to scientology and shut off your brain, or what?

    stay away from those people!

  13.   no.  dont  really.

    really dont

dont pay what ever you do

  14. Go for it! I'm into that too, only that I have no mucho cash :(

Look at my question about it http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  15. dude i heard some really freaky shiit about them. my suggestion is to stay away from them or at least do some research. look up on youtube anonymous and acientology. Anonymous is a group of people that are totally against scientology because of their weird and harmful way they treat their members. do some research. they believe that an alien created us and that its souls are actually his/hers and that one day it will come back... dude right there enough said thats a weird cult, so some research before u do anything with them.

  16. Never mind how.  The question is why would you do this?

You need to have a reason for doing something.

Have a look at www.dianetics.org and perhaps you'll find a reason to get auditing.

  17. Bring allot more than you expect to spend.

Spending money on religion is a waste in every case.

  18. Scientology is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme set up so the higher ups get minions to donate.  They will promise you much, demand you take (expensive) classes, and they will never stop escalating demands for cash.  Sign up with Toastmasters if you want to gain confidence and meet people; Scientology is a cult.
