I realise that it is winter over there - but how cool/wet does it get? I was thinking of going to Brisbane and Darwin, but probably not Sydney if its freezing cold!

  1. In August in Brisbane, you can expect maximum temperatures in the low 20s with minimums around 10C or so with fairly low rainfall.

In August in Darwin, maximums will be in the low 30s with minimums around 20C with very little rain.

Sydney's temps. will be about 2C below Brisbane's min. and max. with more rain than Brisbane.

  2. brisbane and darwin are in the tropics so the weather stays pretty good there, syney'llbe pretty cold.

  3. in august its about 10,000,000,000 degrees dont die

  4. To hot for us Brits

  5. August is around the perfect time to go to Darwin. Having lived there for 20 years of my life I should know. It will be about 30 degrees, but with low humidity (ie a nice 30 degrees)

Defo worth the trip. You will see stuff you dont see just sticking to the safe tourist route of Melbourne - Sydney - Brisbane.

  6. The question should be how cold is australia in august.  Last winter was the coldest in sydney in 10 years, it was very cold, around 7-10 degrees celcius in the day and it was in the minuses at night.  I think the coldest was -3 degrees at night.  I was cold.  Brisbane will be slightly warmer, Darwin your safest bet for having a hot winter.

  7. I live in Sydney, and in August, the temperature usually gets to 18- 22 degrees celcius. It's perfect weather for jeans and a shirt, but take a jacket. It can also get windy.

Definately come check it out while you're in Australia!!
