Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright expects http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 to shine
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-Maseru-c38430 legend Ian Wright has claimed that the Gunners will not miss captain Cesc Fabregas too much in the Carling Cup final against Birmingham City on Sunday, 27th February. Wright believes that Jack Wilshere will be able to fill in the Spaniard’s
shoes when the two sides clash tomorrow.
Wright, who played for the Gunners from 1991 to 1998, believes that Wilshere is the most promising player in the Arsenal squad. Ian Wright has also made 33 appearances for England, so he knows what it takes to be a success at the international level. He
claimed that Wilshere would go on to become the next big thing for the England national squad as well.
Wright said, “With the confidence Wilshere is playing with right now, you like to think he'll run the midfield. Wilshere is an offensive player and he's only been playing in a defensive role because he's good enough to do it. He can see a pass and even Wayne
Rooney was excited about playing alongside him for England.”
He added, “Once he establishes himself even more as an offensive player, I think he's going to be brilliant for England and Arsenal."
Wilshere has been garnering much attention for his performances at both the club and international levels. The youngster has proven time and again that he has the talent to compete at the very highest level of football. Wilshere was arguably the best player
on the pitch during Arsenal’s Champions League round of 16 first leg encounter against Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium, which in itself speaks volumes for the midfielder’s ability.
Arsenal will have a chance to end their long standing trophy drought when they go up against Birmingham City on Sunday, and Ian Wright believes that Wilshere will be the key to unlocking the stubborn Birmingham defence. The Arsenal legend claimed that the
youngster could one day take over the captain’s duties from Cesc Fabregas.
Wright said, “A new Arsenal captain doesn't jump out at you, but I can see Wilshere filling the role. He's definitely got a captain's qualities about him."
