Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder, Shinji Kagawa, has expressed his desire to continue playing for the German champions. The club officials also confirmed that the youngster would be offered a contract extension, prolonging his stay with the Japanese
club beyond 2013. His current contract expires in summer next year but the club’s higher authorities want to keep him for a bit longer than that.

Kagawa joined the Bundesliga outfit in 2010 after spending few years in J-League playing for Cerezo Osaka. During his four-year stay at the club, he managed 125 League appearances, netting in 55 goals. He made 18 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund during
the 2010/11 season, bagging eight goals. His debut season with the German outfit was marred by injuries, which was the only disappointing factor in the Japanese’s campaign.
Kagawa is currently with the Japanese national outfit but insisted that he would like to represent the Bundesliga winners for a long time. He was also pleased at the prospect of playing in next year’s UEFA Champions League alongside some other big names
from different European clubs.
The Japanese international added, “It will be interesting to see how well I can do and I am really looking forward to the challenge. It is going to be a tough season but I want to play a full year.”
The former Osaka man has made 22 international appearances for the Japanese national side since making his debut against Ivory Coast in a Kirin Cup match. He has bagged five goals during the process.
