  1. It can all come down to what you can afford. I've lived in the East Cobb area for over 20 years and love it...but I'm not sure I could afford the same house if I was moving in today, with present property values/cost. Check it out with a good real estate agent, and also check out the schools.  There are a number of very high ranked schools in East Cobb and you might find the same in the West...generally the better schools, the better places to live.

  2. Cobb County is devoid of culture and anything else interesting. I suppose the downtown Marietta area is mildly interesting if you think homosexual marriage is an important issue. Otherwise, just move into the city to somewhere like Virginia Highlands or L5P or further out to Duluth.

  3. We landed in the Kennesaw area and love it.  Where we're at is close to anything we'd ever need on Cobb Parkway and the schools are fantastic.  We rent the house we're in right now and can't complain about anything here.

  4. marrieta ain't bad

  5. The best schools are in east cobb, and there are some pretty nice neighborhoods too. Smyrna/Vinings is really starting to develop and you can find some pretty nice places there too, except the schools aren't nearly as promising. Marietta is charming and has a small town feel (mainly because it is and just got absorbed by metro-Atlanta's expansion). If you go out to West Cobb, like Powder Springs and Austell it's not as nice, and they median income is lower out there.
