  1. Approximately 15 years ago, my left big toe was permanently removed due to a fungus.  I love to swim, and believe the fungus was contrated from a health spa.  Being a single female who loves to wear cutouts and sandals, this posed a true embarrassment.  At the time of the removal, my podiatrist advised there was no such thing as a toenail replacement.  I'm now hoping that technology has since advanced, and your information on Robert Brodkin was a true help.

In the meantime, I did find a solution that allows me to wear cutouts and sandals.

Sally's Beauty Supply sells "Terrific Tips" nail stickers.  I purchased a pack along with a some nail adhesive glue, and a pack of false nails which works wonders.  I place a dab of adhesive nail glue to my toe to provide texture.  I then place two stickers (in different sizes) atop the glue, then place a false nail atop the sticker, which has been trimmed, shaped and polished.

It adheres very well, and will remain the entire day and through one shower the next morning.

If you do get any further information about Robert Brodkin's toenail replacement, by all means, please post it.

    I hope this helps.
