  1.  Give it time. Since he has only 1 year sober, this is all still new to him. Support him and he will support you. Does he go to meetings or is part of a program of recovery?

I am married to a recovering alcoholic (4 almost 5 years sober) and do have an occassional drink without having him flip out. We do go out and friends do come over who are drinkers, etc. etc.

I suggest looking at it in his prespective. If you were the one who had an addiction problem and was struggling with the new found territory of recovery and trying to eliminate it from your life, how would you feel? If you support him in his recovery, then you will also be able to reap the benefits. A year may seem a lot to you, but if you've been drinking a majority of your life - a year is only but a fraction of time in comparison. You can also attend an Al-Anon meeting in your area to meet others in your situation and have support for yourself.
