  1. I'm not aware of any poem that cummings wrote about Renoir; however, in his "Six Nonlectures" he tells of a painter who could not hold his brush and said, "Tie it into my hand." Although cummings doesn't mention Renoir's name, this jibes with accounts of the painter's life.

    "Always the beautiful answer who asks a more beautiful question" -- from the introduction to "Collected Poems" (1938).
