I don't really want to work 38 miles away from home and they set up an interview with them tomorrow. I just decided not to apply. Would that cause issues?

  1. If you haven't started working for them yet, I would not worry about it...just make sure you don't put them down as someone to call if you apply for another job.

  2. No, they won't be upset as long as you are professional and give them advance notice, so they're not all sitting around waiting to interview you and you just don't show up.  Remember, things might change some day--you might end up moving 20 miles closer to where they are and the job might hold more appeal, so you don't want to burn any bridges.  Just explain politely as far in advance of the interview as you can.
