  1. No.  The reason that the military age is normally 18 for nearly every military is that men and women of that age have the resiliency to adapt to the physical stresses of military life-let alone combat.  Younger people, are still growing and maturing emotionally and mentally. And, as the SFC mentioned-why rob someone of their childhood?

Frankly, they also have a sense of indestructibility; a sense of self that is helpful in all types of combat-it actually increases the odds of someone coming back alive.

  2. No, but raising the voting age to 21 would be.

  3. No, thats why we have ROTC, so people that age can decide weather or not its for them and or get a head start

  4. 14 is too young to join the military.

  5. At 14 we have ROTC.

  6. No 14 year old isn't developed enough physically and mentally to handle the stresses of military duty.

  7. No. 18 year olds are immature enough. and also might be against the law....

  8. haha no it would be a bunch of idiot kids with machine guns

  9. wow, why do you ask? Are you 14 and want to go shoot a gun???

No, it would not be a good thing, and you already know it.  Not only are children not fully mature at that age, but they would not be able to keep up with the physical demands required of them. The psychological effects would be too great on a person who is already not mentally stable, due to horomones and lack of life experience.  You might lower it to 17, but definately no younger than that.  Also, most kids don't graduate until they are 18 anyway, so what would be the point?

  10. Go buy a WII and get Resident Evil and the gun that goes with it, would be much more fun

  11. Would I be correct in opining that this isn't a serious question.  I believe some despots through history tried this and it was an abysmal failure.  Fourteen year olds really aren't all that blood thirsty.  Good luck to you.

  12. No.

  13. h**l no. No child should be using a weapon let alone serve in the military.

  14. No, studies even show that 18 isn't a good age.  Men's brains are still developing and they are not adept at making critical thinking decisions until they are at least in their mid twenties.

  15. No, 14 is not mature enough for the stress that may come with military service. Why rob a child of his or her childhood?
