I'm new to this and a little IT challenged so please be gentle with me.

I got a virus on my pc and used Malwarebytes to get rid of it, the report siad that it would delete on reboot. The virus was heuristics.reserved.word.exploit. When I rebooted the pc it only goes as far as the black screen with the white writing that ends with verifying dmi pool and then the windows screens comes up with the scroll, at this point the computer restarts, goes through the same thing and restarts again.

I can not get in via safe mode, but i can bring up the BIOS screen.

Could this be my problem.....

On the black page with the white writing that tells you all about CPI, memory, drives etc. it has – ddr ram at bank : 0 Should this actually have a value instead of zero???

Here are some details of the machine......

GA-8S661FXM-775

SIS 661FX+964 / Micro ATX

P4 Socket775 / AGP 8X

2 DDR400 / LAN

6-CH Audio / USB2.0

SATA / VGA Intergrated

Cheers

  1. Boot from windows O/S CD after it has loaded and asks what you want to do ( install Repair etc ) press the R key for repair and follow instructions from there

You must have had a lulu of a virus for it to do this

window should install in repair mode and you will not lose any files

  2. well id say that your virus mite not be gone, i trust spyware doctor to get rid of all my viruses, you can google it to download it and get the free registration code somewhere, and when you get into your PC go to Control panel>system>advanced>startup and recovery settings and then it says under system failure, uncheck automatically restart, your computer could be restarting due to system failure,

well thats all i got for ya hope it helps
