  1. Except for Islamism (which does not include all Muslims) no religion per se really hates Catholics. Some people do, but many times they do not really know why. It started centuries ago in Germany and spread throughout Europe and came to the United States. Catholicism was too strict and many church officials were arrogant, acting as if they were a special class and should be revered and obeyed unconditionally. Most if not all of that changed over the centuries and the Catholic Church became more people friendly, although some of its rules are still pretty strict--but the rules are for other Catholics and others are not expected to adhere to them. The Church has a dichotomous relationship with the people now; it teaches a very strict religion, but does not expect total belief or cooperation. It is satisfied if people are generally good to each other and have a good feeling for living productively and lawfully. One ought not be too liberal or too conservative. Either way breeds intolerance, which is religion gone wrong! Being too liberal does not mean loving animals and hating hunters; it means putting the flora and fauna above humans. Being conservative does not engender hating people and shooting up all the animals; it means remembering your human values and remaining free.
