Why do Texans have so much pride for their state?

Being a native texan i can say im very proud to be one also. I think people just hate on texas bc they're jealous. we have one of the biggest states, most of the professional football players and college football players come from texas, we where the only state to fight for are freedom and then where asked by the United States to join the Union, we also take pride in are diverse population, many famous people are from texas, we have alot of open country around us, the skies are vary blue here, NASA, Dell, Univeristy of Texas, Tex-Mex food. i also think bc we are sterotyped so much as being a bunch of racied rednecks, who kill criminals and hate mexicans and the biggest one of all we are all like george w. bush. We weren't the only state to vote for george w. bush others did to so go hate on them for that as well. Its not my fault that you don't have pride for your state like we do, maybe you should try getting some.
