Last night I made dinner as usual for myself and my 3 Kiddos, (ages 13,14 and 17), but since I had a headache, instead of sitting down to dinner as usual, dinner was done in a "Serve Yourself when you get Hungry, BUT do it BEFORE bedtime kind of way" at 9:30 p.m" I told ALL 3 kids this!...WELL, my 14 year old Son ate as did my 17 year old daughter before bedtime as they were told to do...BUT my 13 year old daughter stayed on her phone until bedtime....at 9:30 I said "Get in Bed" all-of-a sudden she was just "starving"...I told her tough luck...she should have gotten off of the phone and ate before bedtime like everyone else did, I told her she could wait for breakfast in the morning!!! Was I being too rough on her...or just being Consistent in my word and deed as a parent? Your Thoughts? Anyone and Everyone invited to answer....Thanks

  1. Yeah, you were. You should've had a talk with her about being more responsible, and if you didn't feel well enough, you should have told her you'd talk the next day. There's NEVER an excuse for denying a child food, EVER. If anything, rather than preventing another occurance, it'll cause resentment and make her act out by doing it more.
