Where should I go in Costa Rica?

Portalon, Ciudad Colon, Carate or Punta Morales?

...if I'm looking for rainforest and the beach, not too touristy.

Which city out of anywhere in Costa Rica?

why don't yu go to puerto viejo, limon. and then monteverde or the chirripo peak

there is a could forrest of monteverde/santa elena...but that has tourists in it.  worthy of a visit.  the road is NOT paved for a reason.  to limit the tourists there.  still there are quite a few.

the corcovado park down southwest is where the largest population of scarlet maccaws are.  the carribean coast is the wetest place.

in panama (just barely across the boarder on the carribean side) is bocas sel toro.  easy to get there from the carribean coast, not so easy from any other place.  there are turtles there but i think they are only there in dec-feb....

the turtles on the west side are on the guanacaste peninsula where lots of cool beaches (deserted to crowded)

try to see the orosi valley.  not in the rainforrest, but beautiful.  it is south of cartago.

the dry rainforrest is where "rincon de la vieja" is.  very few people go there because the road is not pav ed and the more well known monteverde is nearby.  

my friends own land inside the park.  roy watson often is there and is bilingual..... also, "the rincon de la vieja lodge" is there at that national park "google" that place.  there is a volcano and many hot springs there too.  the fruit that grows there is amazing!
