  1. Yes, as when you are skiing the sun reflects of the snow and the UV rays can give you sun burn. It can also damage your eyes so ski googles are definetly needed.

You also need them as when skiing of piests or on powder then large amounts of snow are thrown into the air and this means that you without googles would have to close your eyes. With googles it is easier as it does not go into your eyes.

Also you can't get your eye jabbed out with a ski pole.

  2. Well...I skied all day yesterday wearing my wonderful polarized, transitional, wrap-around sunglasses....so I would say no...you don't need goggles, but you need some sort of eye protection.

For the record...it snowed all day while I was skiing, the sky was overcast, and it was in the mid-20s.

  3. No. I only wear them when i have too.

  4. I do.  The wind dries my eyes and is cold and I like the goggles protection.  Also it makes it easier to see.

I leave them on all the time because if you get snow/moisture in them they can fog up.

  5. mostly yes but its not a law

  6. you will want to wear them unless its really warm

  7. i got snow blind when i was 12. have been wearing dbl gradient lens glasses or goggles ever since. it made my eyes really sensitive. so long term damage can occur.

  8. If the sun is out you can get snow blindness without UV protection. It's painful and potentially harmful. And goggles are better than sunglasses.

  9. The goggles will help you protect your eyes from wind burn and also from strong sunlight. Yes you should wear them at all times when skiing. Do I? No and I regret it most of the time. I have them on my helmet but forget to put them down too often. My eyes are then dry and sore. There are many different types that will protect your eyes. Some are more like a set of sun glasses than goggles.

  10. not really if u dont wanna but were em in da glades (woods)

they are really helpful to see terriene

  11. Goggles make skiing a lot easier.  Not only do they shade the bright sun, but the lenses emphasize the bumps and irregularities in the snow.  They keep you safe- I wear mine all the time.

  12. yes i would recommend it especially if its snowing cuz if you aren't the falling snow will get in your eyes and its a automatic reflex to close so thats unsafe to ski with your eyes closed and if its sunny out the sun will reflect of the snow and the sun can damage your eyes

  13. No, i Only wear mine if it's snowing, or hard to see. or raining.

  14. i never wear tham but you might want them or sunglases when the sun is bright

  15. if your day skiing it is easy to see with goggles on because when you don't have goggles on the snow reflects the sunlight and bounces to your eyes. that makes your eyes weaker so u cant see small bumps that may cause you to crash. i usually take off my goggles when night skiing because the goggles will usually make it more dark and almost impossible to ski.

  16. Yes always wear them

First off it prevents your eyes from drying out.

  17. As  for UV protection both goggles and sunglasses will work the same. Your decision should be based off your comfort.  If its raining or snowing you will undoubtedly want goggles to keep you comfortable and the elements out of your eyes. Even on a sunny day they will protect your eyes from flying snow and sun.

As for protecting your face from the sun goggles alone will not do that so you would still need to put on sunscreen. Also goggles can get too warm on a sunny day.

A nice pair of goggles should feel comfortable and not bug you when you wear them. A cheaper pair can be uncomfortable and annoying to wear so if you choose to wear goggles try a bunch on and buy a pair that feel comfortable to you.

And one last note, if you wear a helmet goggles are a must I can't tell you how silly people look when they where the sunglasses under a helmet. Also if you fall and you have a helmet & sunglasses on the sunglasses can cut your face. Goggles on the other hand would save your face from snowburn and not cut into it.
