Whats the chance that i am having twins ?

* i am 3 months pregnant and i am huge

* this my 3rd pregnancy

* twins run in the family

also the pic i have for my avatar is actually me !!!

i am going to the doctors today to find out but what do you think

and also what do you think the percentage is that i am having twins thanks =)

I doubt your having twins because your doctor would of seen it on the ultrasound by now

That's a big belly hun! my cus is having twins and that's what she looked like at 3 months. Its true that 3rd pregnancy's tend to be bigger. I'm not good with percentages but I'd say 79%.

Twins run in the family good start.  You seem to really wish you are.  I think deep down you know whether or not you are.  DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE TWINS?  If you truly feel you do then I would say good chance you are.  

When I got pregnant with my girl I knew the whole time that I was having a girl.  Sure enough I was right. So go with your intuitions.  But always be prepared for the other situation.

I dont think you will end up having twins because it seems like the 3rd pregnancy is always the most unique pregnancy compared to the rest. Its always the one that gives you the stretch marks when you dodged them the first two times and also when you carry the largest or carry the smallest.  Its always different but if they run in your close family like your grandma mom or sister has them then you got like a 10% chance which is still pretty high.  Hope you end up with twins though that would be fun. :)

i dunno the percentage, but im a twin and my grandmom is a twin. my mom was sooo big so if you are like noticeably large (no offense lol) compared to what you were at your 3 months with your other 2 children, then id say its twins, or one h**l of a big baby! good luck !!

If the women in your family experience hyperovulation (releasing more than one egg) you, by virtue of being related (mother's side only) could as well, there is an increased chance of having fraternal twins

However, all parents have the same chance of having identical twins

Generation 1: Grandma

Grandma has the gene for hyperovulation. She & Grandpa have fraternal boy twins, Rob and Bob

Generation 2: Rob & Bob

While Grandma's sons may carry the gene for hyperovulation, they do not ovulate. They will not have twins (excluding other factors). However, they each have a daughter.

Generation 3: Molly & Polly

Molly and Polly, cousins, inherit the gene for hyperovulation from their fathers. They each have a set of twins.

All of this goes for fraternal (not identical) twins only.

Identical twins don't run in families; they're random

Your husband's family history has absoultely no bearing on your own children, except maybe for the future possibility that you might have twin grandchildren!.

Other factors that contribute to twins are" maternal age, race, weight, diet and reproductive history all contribute to twinning and may have a stronger influence than family history.

You are quite round and lovely! I am not that big and I am 5 months(#3 as well here) next week! Your uterus may not have had time to get back to where it was before you got pregnant again. This happened with tons of my friends and family. OR...it might be twins!! I would love twins..yes I am crazy! lol I haven't been pregnant in 5yrs..so maybe my uterus had time to go back? You look awesome BTW!

Nil.  Women who are on their second and up pregnancy are usually bigger than the first time around.
