What would happen if I only took one drivers lesson and tried to take the dmv test?

  1. If proof of training hours and practice isn't required, you may get away with it.

    I suggest, however, that you haven't learned enough, and will fail the road test, as you should.  

    I took lessons, and practiced, for 6 months, and learned to drive in the city, on the highway, on narrow bridges and gravel roads, in sunshine, at night, in rain, fog, snow, and on ice.  There were very few conditions I did not get exposure to, so the actual driving test was a breeze.  I even had to parallel park, on a steep hill, backing downhill into a spot, downhill, then leaving it going uphill, driving a van with a standard transmission.  I suggest all driving students would benefit from such a regimen.
