What is the next major European football tournament?

I followed Eurocup 08 this summer and I'd like to know when I can see another cup/tournament/championship like that. I know that Fifa is in 2010, and that the next Eurocup will be in 2012, but is there anything important happening later this year, or maybe next?

The next tournament for men's national teams is the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa, bringing together the hosts, World Cup holders Italy, and the champions of the six different continents: Spain, Brazil, Egypt, Iraq, the USA and one more (most likely New Zealand).

There is the european champions league for clubs, it goes on from now until around march next year and has all the best teams in europe;if not in the world playing in it, it happends in rounds and the matchs are spaced apart.

And there is also the uefa cup with is the same as the champions league but with lesser teams but they are still very good teams.

At the moment it is pre-season in most of europe and there are warm up tornaments going on like the one in rotterdam,holland today with totenham (england),celtic (scotland),feyonoord (holland) and borussia dortmund (germany) in a round robin tornament.
