What is a "test group?"?

We have to describe what the "Test group" is for an experiment i conducted. I have NEVER heard of it before though!!!!!

Can you give me an example of a test group??

The test group is the group that is getting the experimental treatment.

For example an individual wanted to see if a pill will increase attention, they gave the pill to fifty people and then studied another fifty people with out the pill to see if the groups were different.  The test group here would be the fifty people who got the pill the special treatment.
