What do I need to do to prepare accounts to file for a small UK limited company?

  1. I guess we're talking final accounts i.e. Profit and Loss Accounts and Balance Sheets?

    Well first of all, you need the previous years balancing figures.

    Then you need a copy of the cash book and bank statements.  You could also do with sales invoices, purchase invoices, remittance advice notes and credit notes etc to validate the transactions.

    Then you need to do you're double entry and produce the final accounts.

    (Not adviced for someone with no/little experience!)
