  1. i've been to snowshoe, west virginia.  it was a great mountain overlooking a lake.  very nice!

  2. Crystal Mountain in Michigan is really great! I've also heard that Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain have some awesome mountains too.

  3. Personally, I like the resorts in New Mexico and Colorado like Taos, Red River, Santa Fe, Wolf Creek, and Monarch because they are sort of close to were I live.

  4. Cascade Mountain which is about 45 minutes out of Madison, Wisconsin.  Also I know that there are some really good resorts in Northern Wisconsin.

  5. This sounds like a ridiculous question, but one could do some really good cross-country skiing in the Kansas Flint Hills or around Lawrence.

  6. Lutsen, MN, is probably the best place to go in the midwest.  They have 4 mountains with great ski in/out lodging.
