Unique hermit crabs names & a rat question.?!?

1. - How to I hold my Dumbo rat Gus Gus? I'm always afraid he'll bite me, but i do hold him i the cage but then when in pick him up, his tail starts going in circles! Then i get scared. What should I do? Is there a scent that rats do like and wont bite it? Thanks! ! ! !

2.Okay so today me and my little bro & sis are getting 1 hermit crab each. I like unique && funny names, but can think of any. =/ Thanks for the help ! ! !

The rat's tail goes in circles for balance, they like to have something under them when you pick them up, they don't like to free-float in the air with you hand around their waist. Cuddle him to your chest with a hand under him. He won't bite. He might l**k you though.

No, Rats don't bite unless you make them mad.

And to hold a rat:

Take one hand and put it around the rat's belly (don't squeeze too hard), Next just keep your hand like that and pick your hand up. Finally you can lets your rat, Gus-Gus crawl on your shoulders ( They like it) and thats how you pick up a rat. :)
