  1. I know how you feel about being embarrased and afraid...

I'm supposed to get baptized this August and have been struggling with strong inadequate, unworthy feelings. Sometimes I wonder if I should even go on with the baptism.

Don't let this thing get in the way of your relationship with Him. God doesn't want us to feel foolish or ashamed, and neither should a servant of the Lord. We have all done things we are ashamed of. But Jesus is still waiting for us there with open arms. Sometimes we just have to cross the bridge, so to speak

  2. Hi Ruthie,

Welcome to the family! My uncle converted from Judaism to Christianity not so long ago...It's not sitting so well with the rest of his family, but I'm still proud of him!

I'm truly sorry to hear about the tragedies you have suffered. I can't imagine the loneliness and pain you must have gone through at such a young age.

As far as the fainting and vomiting goes...it sounds like you might a bad spiritual problem. My Dad was into the occult as a teenager. He shared a story with me where he said he saw a demon during one of his nightshifts at work. He described it as a black menacing figure that made his skin crawl. He didn't know what happened, but something inside of him told him to get on his knees and cry out to Jesus. He did and the spirit went away, he's been a christian ever since.

I don't know much about the occult besides the stories I've heard from my Dad. But I know that these are demons who despise and are bereft of God. They thrive upon misery, hatred, and wickedness. Hold on to Jesus with everything you've got. Whatever is lingering around is repelled by God, his glory, and the love he wants to share with you.  Plead the blood of Jesus over yourself. Know in your heart, that you are a child of God, who believes that Jesus Christ is the God who has dominion over all things. If it tells you lies and makes you feel guilty, know and if say that Jesus died on the cross for anyone who would believe that he was the son of God. He has given you a clean slate. If you find that this persists and will not go away,  find a good pastor and ask for his advice.

Remember, it is not you, nor the pastor, that has the power to make it leave. It is by Jesus and by him alone. By knowing this, you will have an authority to cast that thing out.

It's okay if it doesn't feel like God's there. We've all gone through it. It's because faith pleases God, and he wants to see who will stick it out with him. Seek him out... try finding a church you are comfortable with being a part of, join a bible study, and continue with your conversations and prayers. This is a spiritual process. He will reveal himself to you in the way that he sees fit, and that one day will come when you will be assured that there he is real and working in your life.

You don't know how unbelievably happy he is that his child has come home to him!

God bless you and may your days be filled with peace, love, and Godliness.
