Top Rookies in the National Hockey League – Part 1
Sergei Bobrovsky, Philadelphia Flyers
Some of you might not be aware of who he was before the start of the season. However, the start of the season saw Flyers goal keeper Michael Leighton making way for him. Not letting the opportunity slip this play has made a name for himself and is widely
known among the NHL fans from all over the world.
At the start of the season some critics said that he won’t be able to match the performances of the Stanley Cup winning Leighton.  But the proved all of them wrong playing an important role in the Flyers success this season and putting them in the top spot
in the Eastern Conference.
Is time spent with the Flyers has seen him coming up with 23 wins and only seven losses which is absolutely amazing for a rookie to be replacing a champion goal keeper. The thing that is most waited is the fact that whether or not Bobrovsky can continue
with the performances during the remaining part of the season. If he is successful in doing so then expect a star in the making in the form of Bobrovsky.
Jeff Skinner, Carolina Hurricanes
Jeff Skinner is among those players in the league who in their very first season with a team they have never played for in their life win the hearts of millions of fans with the hard work and productivity they show.
Performing to the best of the abilities he has already established his reputation of being a very dangerous tactic who can create and score a goal from anywhere. Such is the hype of this player that the All-Star game revolved all around him. Being a rookie
in the NHL is once in a lifetime chance and to be able to grab it requires and art. This art has been mastered by Jeff Skinner.
He has been on the end of scoring many goals for the Hurricanes and there have been several occasions in the season where the Hurricanes were down and out. However, he managed to combine all the team together along with some seniors in the game and in the
end win the game of his team.
He is one of the main reasons that the Hurricanes are in the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference despite being a little weak than teams below them. However, if this player continues to perform to the best of his abilities then expect the Hurricanes
to emerge as a strong team in the play-offs.
James Reimer, Toronto Maple Leafs
Though James Reimer has played only 10 games during the course of this season but the level of performances he has come up with, he has earned a spot in the list despite no bagging many appearances.
Reimer who is currently 22 years old has been with a doubt the only reason who has kept the hopes of Maple Leafs finishing in the play-off spit alive. He came in at a time when the Maple Leafs were struggling and giving away goals. However, his arrival changed
things at the back and the Maple Leafs have got a great deal of boost from it. During the ten starts he has made, Reimer has won six games and lost four games. His percentage saves and goals against averages are 0.927 and 2.44 respectively and if he comes
up with these performances for a complete season then expect him to be alongside the very best in the league.
