The TSJ opposes clemency to former mayor of Torrevieja. The Civil and Criminal High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) Chamber has informed the Ministry of Justice against the granting of "full or partial " pardon the autonomic also former deputy, Pedro Angel Hernandez Mateo, according to confirmed sources TSJCV.

Mateo Hernandez was sentenced to three years in prison for the crime of forgery and breach of trust in fixing the award of multi-million dollar contract for garbage collection in Torrevieja for Necso (now Acciona) in 2004.

The Ministry of Justice claimed on 17 December to TSJCV to rule on the request of the former mayor. Hernandez Matthew recorded clemency on November 18 in the time it would pick up the car of imprisonment. In October, the Court had rejected the appeal of the former mayor and confirmed it.

The Civil and Criminal Chamber attended with a favorable resolution of the Prosecutor 's request to suspend Hernández Mateo imprisonment until his request for clemency was resolved and considering the length of the sentence. In that case, entry is suspended prison sentence for the benefit of the target that do not deplete most of the compliance thereof in prison and waiting to be granted a pardon that would be favorable.

The clemency petition was backed by 2,500 signatures collected friends of former mayor and most of the Popular Party in the Valencian Parliament and the current mayor Eduardo Dolon, also from the PP, who publicly justified on health grounds his personal support joined the measure of grace.
