St Helens’ coach Royce Simmons: Best team will walk away with title at Old Trafford
While talking to the reporters on Saturday October 8 about Super League title decider at Old Trafford tonight against Leeds Rhinos, the St. Helens’ coach Royce Simmons said that the winner of the clash will be the worthy champions of Super League.
Saints with Leeds in contention for tonight’s clash are all set to clinch the Grand Final glory, where both sides are equally hungry for the honourable Engage Super League finish.
After knocking out the top two league teams, Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves, from the final brawl, all eyes are on Helens and Rhinos, to see who bests the other side out.
While talking about the eliminated franchises, Simmons said, “The two sides that got knocked out of it, up until a couple of weeks ago, were in tremendous form. The for-and-against Warrington had was fantastic and Wigan had a really hard campaign but came
through it and won the Challenge Cup. But us and Leeds have hit form at the right time. The side that holds up the trophy is generally the side in best form and deserves the victory.”
The coach talked about the delayed surge to form by the finalists for tonight’s fixture by the team which is believed to be perfectly timed.
This is Simmons’ first season with Saints and he has mirrored what Michael Maguire of Wigan, by taking his team to the Grand Final berth. However, for Simmons it does not end there as he is hoping to be the ninth coach who took his team to the Grand Final
berth in his very first attempt.
Royce further added that to be able to finish off his first season at the club with a Grand Final win will be great.
While acknowledging the fondness for his new club, the coach added that nothing else could better the feeling than to top the end of the Super League with a victory and for that he will push his players to deliver their ultimate best.
The coach further added that Rugby League is all about big games and how well a team performs in them. He further went on and said that tonight two great teams on all times are going to settle the struggle for the Super League title, which is great for rugby
league itself.
