Size of sleeper car compartments on ICE trains?

Can anyone say how big the sleeper compartments are on the ICE trains in Germany? Do they sleep 1 or 2 people?

  1. There are different classes of night compartments on german trains. You can either have:

    Liegewagen - lying cars - they do have 4-6 places. You can travel on them as a single traveller or also book  an entire compartment with a "family" option. Ther are separated compartments for women. Each compartment has its toilet facility and some of them are suitable for disabled people.

    Schlafwagen - sleeping cars:

    - economy class: single, double, 4 places, family (family means two connected double compartments).

    The confort includes: mineral water, washing facilities, breakfast

    - luxus class: single and double compartments.

    They do include: prosecco glas, magazines, bigger bed (80x190 cm), dinner, breakfast, shower in compartment and panorama window.


  2. The first answer is right. One thing to add:

    The High speed trains in Germany, called ICE (InterCityExpress) do not have sleeper cars. They have only seating 1st and 2nd class and travel normally from early morning to late night.
