I mean if Essendon is going to cheat like they have to ensure the Top 4 sides are Victorian then they should be reduced.

  1. No

    Stupid idea

Who do you think came up with the game

You can't just kick out two teams

How would you even do it?

  2. h**l no you can't buy tradition, how can north melbourne be a loser club if they in the finals and richmond just missed out, h**l there should not even be a gold coast team or another western sydney team, give tassie a team and the northern territory before them after all it is their preferred code

  3. p*i*s*s off. why should they get rid of the historic teams for two teams that shouldn't even be joining  the comp. west sydney and gold coast. you've gotta be joking.

  4. Nah no way, those clubs make our game how it is.

  5. Yes.

Axe two loser clubs like North Melbourne and Richmond

  6. NO!!!!!!!!! Problem is that the Greek wants wo expand too far too quickly. He thinks it is progress to fiddle the rules, fiddle the clubs, fiddle with everything (literally). Are the knives out Andrew? Settle down and let the game settle down. I said elsewhere that I watched a real game of footy on 7 Saturday - Richmond vs Geelong GF 1967. That was a game of football, not the puncey game we have today. AFL has ruined a good game in the last 10 years.

  7. Yep! Essendon didn't cheat.....THE SAINTS R JUST 2 GOOD OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!

  8. What are u on my friend - the game originated in Vic, it was origionally VFL, I don't disagree to more teams joining the ranks but to axe teams from Vic to compensate is just ridiculous!!! Before you go saying I'm obviously a Victorian, I'm actually from the NT and think the sports roots are in Victoria - and I say goodluck to all the teams that made the top 4 (weather they were Vic teams or not they all played to their utmost to get there and did it on their own merit not that of another team) The only people who believe that Essendon secured 4 top spots for the Vic teams is those that support teams from interstate! For that I say your very very ethnocentric!!!!!!!!!

  9. good call. i like ur question. and yes, they should definatley reduce the number of victorian teams. and also, they should get a team in tasmania. and to all the people who are sayin "but its tradition" .... seriously, no-one outside of ur club cares lol. i mean, get over it. its the 21st century and ur all living in the past. and essendons performance today was a disgrace. thank god we dont have to see such c**p like them till next year

  10. I think they should reduced the teams every couple of year knocking of two teams, it is not a national sport until they do so, teams don't have to go for good, they just don't belong in the AFL, but their is no stopping them from playing in the VFL in another level.

Hate to break it to everyone you but its just not fair! 10 Victorian clubs and 6 teams in the rest of the country, as much as the Victorians might wish it is not VFL any more and each of the country should be represented fairly.

Either this or they change the travel schedule fast, eagles traveling interstate 11+ times a year and collingwood for example only traveling 3 times out of Victoria a year!

    EDIT:

adam.levett yes the vfl did grow to acomidate wce and brisbane BUT then it changed to AFL in early 1990's.  Also, west coast and brisbane have been the most successful club in AFL history both with 3 flags in 18 years!

Also you should take a look at eagles injury list 14 players out for the season!

  11.   You drongo, you need to remember that it was originally the VFL and they expanded to accommodate West Coast and the Brisbane Bears, if anything get rid of west coast for how **** they were this season, have a think before you write c**p..........and take a look at Essendon;s injury list too while you are at it
