[thanks to expert who got me this far!] - i WAS able to get audio-only sound, so my original problem (DVD and cable picture work, but receiver gives no sound) is not a problem with the whole amplifier. receiver display that is different is: the word "digital" is flashing ... i'm pretty sure it wasn't flashing before. a friend suggested the receiver is seeking a digital signal it cant find...i think i pressed something inadvertently on either the vios remote or the universal remote, and in trying to fix it i probably screwed it up worse...any help is appreciated ...
