We can't decide which area to stay at. We want an all inclusive hotel with a really nice beach that we can swim in and that doesnt have too much seaweed.

  1. Hello,

Most of the beaches in San Jose del Cabo and Cabo no longer have a swimmable beach.

Only a couple hotels have a protective area for swimming. I would recommend the Presidente in San Jose del Cabo or Melia Cabo Real in the Corridor.

If you would like an all inclusive in Cabo San Lucas, I would recommend the RIU palace, it's not on a safe beach but it's the only hotel in Cabo that all inclusive on the beach.

  2. Hola!  I live here in San Jose del Cabo.  I can honestly tell you what the beaches are like here in Cabo.

First off, they are nothing like the beaches you will find in the Caribbean.  Totally different.  We are on the Pacific ocean and it is a much more powerful and colder ocean.

However, all along the pennisula, we have bays and coves that allow the ocean to come in fairly gently and calmly.   Usually snorkeling takes place.  It all depends on the time of year too. Sometimes it can be almost impossible.

Most of the resorts were built on the beaches that are fairly swimable or they have made adjustments (built a break-water) to make it easier to swim.

Some of the resorts in SJD are on the most rough stretch of beach called Costa Azul.  This stretch of beach goes for miles and therefore is not sheltered.  I walk this beach every morning and I see people trying to swim, but the undertow can be strong at times.  The resorts all post flags to tell you if you can swim in the water or not.

Where are you thinking of staying?  I can give you an honest answer about that particular beach.
