Rockchase Bullet expected to make it big at the Ladbrokes Greyhound Derby
Greyhound Rockchase Bullet has huge odds in his favour for the upcoming quarter final of Ladbrokes Greyhound Irish Derby, this Saturday, 27th August.
Although bettors with big purses have placed substantial wagers on greyhounds, Makeshift and Razldazl George, Rockchase Bullet’s growing skill and litheness at the race track is not hidden from anybody and therefore makes him the favourite for this upcoming
quarterfinals.
Sired by the famous racing champion, Westmead Hawk, Rockchase Bullet has been trained by the skilled trainer, Ronny Wuyts.
His owner, Mr. Richard Forrest, has invested a good deal of resources and time in him and he expects great victories from this exceptional greyhound.
Ronny Wuyts has trained countless greyhounds during the span of his career. He has around seventy five victories to his name.
Rockchase Bullet made his debut earlier this year in April and has participated in seven races since then.
Among these races, he has emerged victorious in two and has fought like a true stalwart in others, finishing second in most or third rarely.
His outstanding record in his debut attributes that this greyhound has a great career in formation for him.
He finished his previous race of this Greyhound Derby tournament in minimal time of 29.61 seconds and defeated the runner up by a wide margin of twenty points and two and a half lengths, a testimony to his growing skill at the racetrack.
The other two favourites for the upcoming races also have an illustrious career to speak for them.
Both have raced in over thirty races during the tenure of their racing careers and have a long history of victories speaking in their favour.
However, Rockchase Bullet’s youth and energy is a strong competition for Razldazl George and Makeshift’s experience.
Makeshift made his debut in October 2009 and Razdazl George made his debut in August 2010.
Makeshift has raced at the racetrack in Shelbourne park several times and his familiarity with the ground and the bends can pose a threat to Rockchase Bullet.
Competing in adjacent trap of Rockchase Bullet would be Dream Walker who also poses a threat to this rising star.
Dream Walker made his debut in May 2010 and although he does not have a long list of victories associated with his name.
His expertise in racing might give Rockchase a difficult time to take the lead of the race in the beginning.
Despite all competition Rockchase Bullet has 5/1 odds in favour of him which reflects the faith bettors have in him.
Hence, expecting him to be the first greyhound to cross the wire in the Irish Derby Quarter Final does not mean one is being too optimistic.
