  1. 45 should be fine. You don't want them loose.

  2. Go to  bike store and really make sure the shoe fits but this ruler may help you....45 is just a little smaller than an 11

By the way... Pricepoint.com and blueskycycing.com has good deals and i alwyas buy my shoes from them...I would go with a cheaper sidi shoe or maybe even shimano

The shoes should fit snugly and make sure you try a bunch of different kinds so you know what feels best!

  3. Sizes differ with brands. I am sure there is a sizing chart on the online sites. Do make use of it.

I've ordered online for cycling shoes before after making numerous checks with size charts and still they are a bit off.

Lucky thing was that it was not too bad and the problem was solve with thicker or thinner socks.

  4. I was very surprised by the size of the first pair of road bike shoes that I bought last year.  I normally wear size 10 street shoes, but I found that 44's were too loose and 43's were too tight.  43.5 was just right, which would be an American size 9-3/4.

I'm glad that I didn't buy my first pair of bike shoes on-line.  The fit of bike shoes is just too critical for long term comfort.
