whats the recoil like for a 15yr old?

You will be able to handle the recoil. These type of guns weigh 10 to 15 pounds depending upon barrel weight and length. This is to keep the guns recoil down and improve multiple shot accuracy.

The .308 is a great caliber and can be used for a wide variety of game.

The Remington 700 simply speaks for itself. It is the most popular rifle in the world. If you are saving to buy one, they are awesome.

Depends on the weight of the gun, the type of recoil pad, what you are wearing (jacket or shirt), the weight of the bullet (180 gr or 125 gr), and if you are shooting while standing or lying down prone etc. For the most part shooting at game the recoil is non existent unless you have developed a mind set that the shot will pound your shoulder each time you pull the trigger, where then you will end up flinching and missing or worse, wounding the game.

If you start practicing with light loads and slowly work up to the load you wish to use, the recoil won't affect you.

im 13 and shoot my remington 700 varmint .308 (exact same gun with differnt stock) without any problems and its really accurate!!!!

It's a sweet shooting, accurate rifle. The recoil is not bad at all, in fact, it's less than my .270 that my kids were shooting by that age.  If you are someone who is very recoil sensitive, just add on a pachmayer decellerator pad and it is even nicer. But as I said, the recoil is not bad at all.
