  1. The memory sticks seem to stay in place even without the clips and people suggest that the clips aren't really vital. I'd try some electricians tape. Seat the memory stick and then run a length along the length of the clip, half on the stick half on the memory socket.

    Check a stick that's properly seated to get a sense of how deep the stick should be to be fully inserted in the socket. There's a fair amount of pressure required to fully insert the memory. But it's also possible to over press when it's already in place. So look at the other memory (assuming there's another stick or two) for reference.
