Quaid-e-Azam Trophy- a recap of fourth round (part 2)
Islamabad versus Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited
Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) registered a mammoth win over Islamabad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, as they beat them by an innings and 12-runs at Diamond club ground. ZTBL have now moved into third place in the domestic standings.
ZTBL sent Islamabad in to bat after winning the toss in trying conditions. The home team got off to a disastrous start, losing their first wicket without scoring a run on the board.  Kamran Hussain and Ameer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 then rescued their team with a 48-run partnership.
Islamabad lost their next three wickets in quick succession for just 18-runs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rashid-Amin-c84065 and Moed Ahmed then steadied the ship for their side and put together a resilient 134-run stand to avoid any further hiccups. Amin top scored with 83 runs, while Moed
cracked a brisk half century. Once the partnership was broken, Islamabad lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 251.
The seamers’ did the job for ZTBL, as their three fast bowlers took advantage of movement on a seaming track. Mohammad Khalil picked up four wickets, conceding 107 in 23 expensive overs. Junaid Zia’s accurate medium pace bowling earned him decent figures
of two for 34 in 15 economical overs.
The pick of the bowlers for ZTBL was Sohail Tanvir, as he ran through the opposition’s top order, picking up three for 48.
ZTBL started off slowly in their first innings, as they scored 59-runs for the loss of two wickets in the first half of their innings. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yasir-Hameed-c2811 and Shahid Yousuf then mustered a 192-run partnership for the third wicket. Hameed stroked a brilliant century
to put his team in a commanding position.
There was however no stopping Shahid Yousuf as the middle-order batsman smashed 22 boundaries for his breathtaking 162 runs off just 172 balls.
Later down the order, Juniad Zia scored a whirlwind century off just 89-balls, which included seven boundaries and six towering sixes. Three batsmen struck well crafted centuries to help ZTBL record a massive first innings total of 583-runs.
Nasrullah Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Islamabad with figures of five for 133 in competent spell of 34 overs. Kamran Hussian’s struggling off-break’s earned him three wickets for an expensive 152-runs. Shehzad Azam and Imad Wasim chipped in with
two wickets apiece.
Trailing by 332-runs, Islamabad openers played watchfully as they put on a gritty partnership of 66-runs for the first wicket. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nauman-Masood-c78862 and Ameer Khan steered their team to relative safety at 153 for two in the middle of the innings. Opener Masood struck
a resilient half century to boost the morale of the Islamabad team.
 
The innings of the match for Islamabad came from the blazing blade of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zeeshan-Mushtaq-c98588 as he recorded his third first-class century to salvage some pride for his team. Apart from Zeeshan, no other player made an impact with the willow, as they were bundled
out for a fighting total of 320-runs.
This time around, Sohail Tanvir was hit all over the park, conceding 97-runs in 20 expensive overs. Mohammad Khalil was the star performer for ZTBL as he picked up his 14th five- wicket haul to guide his team to an emphatic victory over Islamabad.
Raza Hassan also picked up three wickets.
