Putting numbers on hunting dogs (deer dogs)?

My husband wants to dye some numbers on his deer dogs, I guess using a stamp thingy?

Where could I find them and what are they called?

Find your nearest agricultural supply store and call and ask for "livestock markers".

You can also find them on the web in lots of places.
