My fiance is planning to go into the Army. I still have some schooling to finish up before we marry. What is the process of him moving on base, and how would we know if he will be pushed into the war or be able to live on base? He will probably leave within the next year. I won't be able to marry him for 2 years. Also is there a certain age for wives to live on base? I'll still be under 21.

  1. depends on his job....live on base in barracks until he is married...and then either on base if there is room or offbase if there isnt...no there is no age for a spouse to live on base...

  2. you can be under 21 and live on base with him. as long as you are his wife (making you his dependent) you may live on base. he will live on base in the barracks until he is deployed. if you two get married before hand then he can live off base with you. my husband and i lived off base while i was going to school.

  3. No everyone is always not deployed. It depends on the unit he joins rotation when he gets there. You will be able to live on post with him when you get married or off post if no housing is available. Until that time he will live in the barracks. We are at war and pretty much all MOS's are deployable so when he joins he should be prepared to see maybe not direct combat but be in a combat zone. Especially as a medic. If he does not want to go to war then he should not join. That is my 2 cents on that one.
