Perfect Delight to pair up wins by bagging the Levy Restaurants Stakes (Handicap) at Goodwood
Goodwood will stage the Class 3 Levy Restaurants Stakes (Handicap) over a mile, a furlong and 192 yards on Friday, 15th June. The race has attracted a line-up of six three-year-old runners with the prize money for the winner set at £7,763.
Sir Mike, Haafhd’s three-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare, Tara Moon, has raced twice during the new season. Both the races, one at Lingfield and the other at Goodwood, resulted in a second position.
His seasonal debut was in the Betfred.Com Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 5th May at Goodwood over seven furlongs. The race was won by Balady who led the runner up, Sir Mike, by 1 ¼ lengths.
The 5/2 favourite of the race, Poole Harbour, ended sixth on the track of seven contestants.
On 16th May he was a part of Cyprium Bar At Marriott Lingfield Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Lingfield over a mile. The race was won by Roserrow as Sir Mike settled in as the runner up after striding through the 2 ¼ lengths’ margin.
He will be racing his third seasonal outing today and will enjoy the second opportunity at Goodwood. His ability of striking a second position there indicates volumes about his potential to win there.
Another note worthy entry for the race is Perfect Delight, Dubai Destination’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Perfect Spirit, who has been active four times during the new season.
She started it off with a third position, accumulated two second scores and then finally claimed a race. She cracked into the new season on 23rd April in the Skybet.Com Handicap at Windsor over a mile and half a furlong. The race was won by Paloma’s
Prince who took charge of the final half length and set Presburg into the second spot.
Her most recent race and win was in the Reisser Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on 14th June at Newbury over a mile and two furlongs. Not only did she win, she won as the 5/2 favourite who led the track by just half a length under the guidance of John
Fahy.
She did not race at Goodwood during the new season but did bag a third position there during the previous season.
