Pep Guardiola insists Barcelona deserved to win the UEFA Champions League

“It is never easy. We must congratulate Manchester United for the great match they have played. We are pleased because we know how hard it is to win the Champions League. We prepared very well for this game and the world has seen that we deserved to win.
We controlled the game superbly,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Spaniard also applauded the opposition’s efforts and claimed that the Red Devils gave them a hard time in the match. He added that it was a very competitive first half as Manchester United levelled right after Pedro scored. But the Catalans were simply
fantastic after the interval and dominated possession to take the match away from the English side.
“The history of Manchester United told us that we would have a hard time. They played at a high level and managed to equalise so soon after we scored the first goal. I think we must be happy because we were very competitive today,” he concluded.
