  1. I experienced a strong burning sensation the first time I was anethetized. They had given me an injection into one of the veins of my hand and almost immediately I could feel it working its way up my forearm. I wouldn't describe it as very painful, but it was unpleasant, and the feeling of helplessness as it spread was unnerving.

Unlike your case the burning seemed to stop when it got to my shoulder. I remember this distinctly because, having been able to feel what was happening before, it was even more unnerving not to know now. It kept me in suspense for maybe five or ten seconds then my head started to go fuzzy. No pain that I recall but this last part happened very quickly. Within a couple of seconds I was feeling very confused and disorientated then everything just misted over.
