Our bowlers can take 20 wickets against South Africa, believes Ricky Ponting – Cricket News Update
Geared up for the Test series against South Africa at home, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 are going to hold the key for the Kangaroos.
The first Test of the three-match series is going to commence from November 9, at Brisbane, with both the sides looking to stamp their authority at the ultimate level of the sport.
Both http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and Australia have a number of quality fast bowlers in their ranks and many former cricketers are of the opinion that the upcoming contest is going to be a battle of speedsters.
In order to counter the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Aaron-Starc-c76392, who have all done well in different forms of the sport recently.
Ponting hinted that the Kangaroos are not going to tinker with the bowling combination, which was extremely successful in the previous season. Pattinson and Siddle, who have been doing splendidly well in Sheffield Shield cricket in the current domestic season,
are going to play a huge role in the series, in the former captain’s opinion.
“The attack that we put out last year will be very similar to what we go out with tomorrow in our conditions and conditions that we know very well,” he said. “All the guys, Siddle and Pattinson especially, have got a lot of first-class cricket under their
belt and have taken a lot of wickets at the start of the summer.”
Australia whitewashed India (4-0) at home last year, with their bowlers delivering the goods consistently. Some believe that South Africa’s batting line-up is far superior to that of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on hard and bouncy tracks but Ponting claims that the Australian
fast bowlers have the potential to dismantle any team.
“The way we played last year was somewhere near our best and if we produce that again, it doesn't matter what batting line-up we're bowling to, we'll take 20 wickets in a Test match,” the legendary batsman added.
