  1. i think thats the only protection they wear (besides their helmet)...

  2. That and a girdle, elbow pads and leg guards.

I think. At least that's what Hockeymonkey sells in the officials section.

  3. If they were smart they would

  4. The intelligent ones do.  Standard equipment for an official is:

    black trousers

    sweater

    girdle (hip and thigh pants)

    shin guards

    elbow pads

    cup

    helmet

    sweater

    whistle

    skates

I know of one AHL official that does not wear a girdle and a few amateur officials that do not wear cups, girdles and shin guards. (Those guys are nuts, no pun intended!)  Anything worn under the trousers and sweater are theoretically optional.

  5. O course they do...!! Wouldn't you...? Would you vernture into the fray of pucks and sticks and hope to come out of it with your "plums" in tact....?

  6. Yes they do if they want to keep there sack safe.

  7. If Craftsman makes toolboxes for their tools, then NHL refs would be wise to do the same.

If only to to be able to service those puckbunnies.....

  8. gotta keep the boys safe
