Action replay is a device that connects to the DS and allows you to change certain aspects of the game play.  Most often it's used to create infinite lives and/or money, or obtain any item in the game that might otherwise not be obtainable.

Using an Action Replay is considered as cheating by purists.

an action replay is a cheating device that allows the player 2 put in codes such as 999 master balls, 999 rare candies, all 95 of each TM, wild pokemon modifier( allows u 2 c any pokemon of ur choice in the wild), infinite money, walk through walls (note the walk through wall code can mess ur game if u go 2 far use at ur own risk) etc

u can get an action replay at almost any place that sells games like gamestop, eb games, and even wal-mart

an action replay doesnt jus work 4 pokemon it works 4 almost any DS game or GBA game depending on which 1 u got it 4

an action replay is an item used to cheat on games  in pokemon diamond for example you can get codes that allow you to do anything

you can get any pokemon you like  you can get any item at any amount

its basically cheating on games
