talk about how:

-u can count on them for advice about stuff since they've gone through it already

-they help you financially

-good relationship with parents lead to good relationships with other ppl later in life

You say its a persuasive speech yet your topic isn't persuasive, its more informative.  Are you trying to persuade people it is in their best interest to have a good relationship with their parents?  You can focus on research that highlights the benefits of having a good relationship with your parents (which you may want to define "good relationship"...that's pretty broad). For instance, their is research that suggests a good parent/child relationship improves grades, lessens the use of illegal drugs, etc.
